Q. What is a pét-nat?
A. Pét-nat is shorter for Pétillant-Naturel and refers to sparkling wines produced by the ancestral process. The ancestral system is a sort of fermentation that commences in an open tank and then concluded in the bottle with no secondary fermentation, unlike most other glowing wines this kind of as Champagne and Prosecco. This gives pét-nats half the stress of traditional sparkling wines.
We’re not certain any one has pet gnats, and it is not advised to feed your pets a pét-nat, either (they do make “wine” for your preferred furry friend, even though!). If you haven’t tried out a pét-nat, you should—maybe you will love it and it’ll place a sparkle in your eye!
