Sussex and Hampshire-based wine producer Nyetimber is set to get The Lakes Distillery in a deal valued at £71 million.
The producer mentioned it has supplied the offer for the distiller because it thinks that “The Lakes is the main English distiller of premium high quality solitary malt whisky and other high quality spirits” with its “characteristic sherry-led dwelling design, wood forward solution and depth of flavour”.
It claimed in the announcement that there was a “sizeable possibility” for The Lakes to increase its market place share within the domestic solitary malt whisky marketplace, as very well as internationally, boasting that the distillery’s “English provenance will resonate very well with buyers”.
